Dandeniya is a village in Aparekka. Dandeniya tank, the water reservoir is a tourist attraction in Matara district. This tank built in the era of King Parakramabhahu.

It covers the area of 42 acres. There are rumours about a sacrifice made to reinstate the water level when it completely dried up in history.
Despite all this, it is a beautiful place to visit and have a weekend with your friends together.
